Blog is on free hosting now.

I am torn between many things and as I cannot decide to keep blogging or stop completely I though it was best to make it a free blog, that way I can spend my 100 usd elsewhere than on something I did not use. Content is still here at least i hope so, it was around 4 gb with pics…could be some is gone since free only support 3 gb….

Blog is taking a hiatus for now.

**Updated from old posting**

When I come up with a new angle for the continue of the blog then I will go from there, for now it will just be here with the posts and when I am good and ready it will be updated to a business plan so i can do more than post.

I actual ran out of energy blogging about this and that, it used to be my fun thing to do and ended up as a “job”. Now I have taken a SL break I am not on grid I am on and off my fb account to chat or answer any questions I have received, but for now I am not interested in logging on and stand on my parcel looking out of the window wondering about the meaning of this virtual life.

The blog was never ment to become this big as I only wanted to share memories of clubs, djs and events that I had been to. When I look back and see how many clubs that have come and gone and same with the people who have taken their time to play music for us, it was well worth all the hours I have spent doing this. And after various things that have happen the recent year I became very selective on what to blog about, not going to go into that  now I will look forward and we see if there will be more to see here.

Dj Nadja Neville at Elysion

End of the weekend and the last performer out for this weekend at Elysion is Nadja Neville that spin a mix of this and that, I would be much more specific but I only came there for the last 20 minutes. Today the crowd was a lot of new faces and a few old faces that I have met or seen in my past, as usual I have taken some pictures of those who were here and will share them with you all.

For the tunes they were a typical Nadja set for those who have heard her spin in past, and for those who have not you should take time and go listen to her. I had expected the establishment to be full of people as it usual is on Sundays, well today it was not as crowded as it usual is. I hope you will enjoy watching the photos of the people who had taken time off to be “seen” at Elysion, and maybe next sunday it is you who are here to party and listen to great music. If you are not that into music there is plenty of other naughty things to do at Elysion, from selfies and kinky play with someone you just met or like!

Enjoy the pictures.

Djane Nea Fredriksson at Club Xanadu.

Came into this world a little into Nea’s set but was able to listen to most of her disco funk set, and so was all the people who had come to Club Xanadu. This evening the club had moved up in the air inside a dome decorated with a mirror floor, flowers and plans among the decoration.

I have been busy as usual taking pictures and have tried to snap a pictures of everyone that have entered the club for the last two hours, while I was away eating late dinner Duque Diavolo took and spin a funky house set. I made it back for the last 25 minutes of his set, and now he just about finishes as the next dj get ready to take over.  Now Annie kicks off her set with a mix of funky house and soulful tunes, so if you feel like come listen to her as she is about to start her set in minutes feel free to take the free cab.

Enjoy the pictures or come hangout with us.

Teleport to Club Xanadu.

Gangster party at The Boom Room a success.

I am not sure if the last post I made of this upcoming event had anything to do with it, but there were a lot of people who had come to The Boom Room this evening for the themed party and most that attended had dressed up. It was not 100% strict but it is always nice when people put on the finer clothes and come enjoy themself, I came to the party around half way in it when Jay Cee was spinning his amazing set.

After him it was Tack spinning electro swing and that was the first time I can recall I ever heard that in this world, and I was amazed how good it sounded. Still people kept coming to the party as they wanted to enjoy themself and dance and have fun, my crazy friend Boo came with a machine gun and that scared me a little, what went off… lool.

The last dj I had time to start listen to was Victoria Grau it was getting close to my bedtime, I had been up early in the morning as I usual am so it was pointless to fight with my eyes that did not want to stay up any longer. I was able to get 25 minutes of her set with me and then I had to leave, but the tunes I was able to listen to sounded great and maybe some other day I get to listen to more.

Another great thing about the event is that they had old timers dances, swing style and that was the icing on the cake to actual have the decoration set, the dances, the music and a lot of great people who had come to have fun and listen to great tunes.

Of course as we all know I have an itchy picture finger and I think I got most of those who came by, I could not stay all night take pictures but I got those who were there for Jay Cee and Tack sets. Maybe you even see yourself as your avatar become an internet star. :O

Last I should mention that this amazing party would never been a success if it was not for Brissy that had this planned and executed, the party was very good thanks to her hard work.

DJ Jay Cee Live at Woods Club.

Totally did not know that Jay Cee was going to spin at woods on saturday evening along with Lau Cedrus and Groovenerd that I hope I will see and be able to listen to more in the near future, last dj I had never heard about until today and his set was real cool. After an hour of listening to Groovenerd it was time for Jay Cee to start with his live set in front of a lot of hopeful people,  all of them loving house music and had come to Woods Club to enjoy themself.

Took a bunch of pictures of more or less everyone that set their foot here tonight it could be you see yourself or someone you know, the only thing I had no control over was the annoying texture refreshing that kept messing up the background but as long as the avatars can be seen who cares.

I also recorded part of Jay Cee’s set just after half of it give or take, for those who did not take the trip to Woods at least you can listen to a few of awesome tracks that the dj had put together and I hope you enjoy it.

If you like to know more about upcoming events at Woods Club you could check out their Facebook page, or go check out the cool sim where their club is located.

Interview with Katia Roffo.

Katia Roffo is one of my favorite female dj to go listen to when I am able to in between my busy second life, I first met her at a friends club and saw her dj for first time. And since then I try to go listen when she have an event or a set at a club,I had though about asking her for a long time for an interview but never got around to it until now.

I asked Katia one of the last days in august to give her time to answer the questions and get back to me when she had time, she is a busy woman in both life and since I am not able to actual pay anyone for their time I have to wait for them to come to me. I hope you find the interview interesting like I did, and don’t be shy to comment if you have any views on the post.

*How did you find second life?

I’ve always liked online games and in 2007 I discovered second life through technology companies. I was curious and I created my avatar just to visit lands of big companies like IBM and others.

*What country are you from?

I’m from Brazil.

*Did it take long after you arrived to second life did you decide to start as a dj?

I started to dj 3 years after I joined SL. I was exploring Brazilian and foreign lands and soon I came across a world of incredible music in second life, Visiting one of these lands, there was this real life famous brazilian radio station event going on. I contacted the dj and asked how to work as dj in second life. He hired me as his personal host. So I started participating in events and parties in second life and started enjoying live streaming and music softwares as an amateur. My first event was at a portuguese land and people loved my set, So after, I started receiving invitations to new gigs and I loved doing it.

*What was the name of the first club you had your first dj gig at?

Dance 4 Life was my debut as dj in sl, before I just played for fun at other lands.

*Do you have a certain dj style you spin or more than one?

I play many styles, including Deep House, Funky House, Soulful, House and Deep Tech.

*You have any dj experience from real life and do you like to tell us about it?

Yes, at first being a dj  was just a hobby in sl, I’ve conquered my space in this virtual world, but through popular sites like mixcloud and others, and through the dj’ing course I took and some friends in real life, I started making some presentations at private parties here in my region. It was incredible, but my real life job takes a lot of my time. I also have a permanent spot in a web radio from Germany that I’ve been part of for about 3 years personal realization I believe.

*Before you start your set how much do you prepare for it, and do you spin live and do you use records (LP’s) or mp3 tracks?

I prepare myself a lot, always choosing my music carefully.
I’m in love with the world of Lp’s, and all the history behind electronic and house music. I admire the djs who use it and stay true to it, but I try to follow the new. I use mp3 and wav files. I’m faithful to the new technology, things evolve and we must follow and the past is history we should admire.

*What type of dj gear are you using?

Hardware: Traktor Kontrol S4 & Tecnics phone dj 1200
Software: Traktor Pro 2, Mixed in Key to analyze the tracks and play in harmony.

*How do you see your SL in 3 – 5 years, still dj, or have you left this world by then?

Nowadays I play exactly at the places that I always wanted to play. I don’t do perm sets. I am exclusive of the clubs that I am part of the staff. And I’d like to keep that routine, besides doing other things, such as running my club and leaving my trace wherever I play.

*When you spin do you do it for the Lindens or for the love of music, or both?

Without any doubt for the love of music. I have other ways of acquiring lindens, mostly through my real life work and second life business. But it is very gratifying to be recognized by your work. Just by a simple compliment in your message box or a generous tip, no matter the amount.

“I don’t claim to know everything, every day is a learning experience. Also I do not take advantage of other people to promote myself. I learned to love music and it’s always a pleasure for me to show a little of what I do and like to do. ”

If you interested to know more about Katia you can visit her on Facebook or Mixcloud , feel free to leave a comment if you have anything on your mind.
